Children’s Health – Ways to Keep Your Child Healthy
Children are your pride and joy, and the thought of them becoming ill can be very devastating to all family members. In the very early years of your child’s life, you may panic when they get the sniffles or cries uncontrollable. Here are a few tips to help you maintain your child’s health.
After an infant is born, they should go to the doctor every couple of months for vaccines. In the early years it is so easy to keep and maintain their doctor appointments than when they become older you may forget that they need regular checkups. As they reach the age of 1 year old, they should go to the doctor once a year unless other medical issues appear. Here are the following tips to maintain a healthy child.
1. Go to the doctor once a year to have a physical and update the doctor on anything unusual or to ask questions
2. Keep active and move around for at least 30 minutes everyday.
- Keeping a child active will enable them to stay at a weight that is healthy and fit for the rest of their life.
- Eat a regular diet with five servings of fruits and vegetable everyday.
- Eat fried and fast food in moderation
3. Make an appointment to see a dentist around the age of 3-4 years old.
* As soon as your child develops teeth you should have them use a toothbrush and
water to maintain a healthy mouth. Some professionals state it is not safe to use
toothpaste, but to be sure ask your dentist.
4. Get plenty of rest. The professionals state that a toddler to school age child should get
10-13 hours of sleep each night. When children go to school they should have 9-10
hours of sleep each night to maintain a healthy body.
5. The most important tip is to maintain a spiritual guidance with your child and let
Know that you love them and are a loving family. One way to do this is to limit
TV time and instead go to the park, have game night at home, or sit down and have
a great conversation with your child. Once your child knows you will listen to
them, they will come to you when you have problems.
