Digital Still Cameras

In previous days, anybody wishing to buy a digital camera used to search for the 5-7 mega pixel cameras having a 3X optical zoom. Now the need is different and the sellers have recognized this fact. The bigger semi-professional DSLR cameras have good options of setting in their exhaustive and very often complicated menus. Actually compact cameras lack many options. This lacking is in their menus and in the terms of their usability. Let the story of compact cameras go aside. Now there are cameras absolutely different. These are models of ultra zoom: the cameras having optical zoom with region 6X to 12X. There are also the ultra compacts: that are as large as the common mobile phone set.

While in the camera shop, you may find that the sellers are trying to convince you to buy Kodak, Fuji or Nikon cameras on the ground that these are the mid range offer. This is because these cameras are comparatively cheaper models for what they usually stock for sale. According to the seller, customers wishing to buy better models ask for Canon and Sony brand. But customers wishing to buy a cheaper one ask for a Kodak or Nikon brand. Don’t care about what the seller suggest. While going in order to buy a quality camera, you should know the modern cameras having their ultra modern options and functions.

The first brand to be mentioned among ultra compact cameras is Canon having their Digital IXUS Series. Among those on display were IXUS 860IS, 800IS, 900Ti and the 950IS. The 800IS camera is based around a 6 mega pixel image sensor, where as 95OIS camera is based around 8 mega pixel image sensors. Both the cameras have an optical zoom of 4X that is better for ultra compact cameras they are respectively ordinary for a common digital camera. SD 900Ti is a little bit more expensive but it is not a better one with 3X optical zoom. It has a macro shooting range with no less than 5cm. Its marketing fact is that it has a titanium body. The newer IXUS 86OIS camera is available in the market with its 3.8X optical zoom. Sony’s T Series cameras are more attractive. They are smaller than Canon’s cameras with their different colors.

Among the cheaper cameras, Nikon’s L18 and Coolpix L16 are available in the market. They have 3X optical zooms. L16 is the 7 mega pixel and L18 is an 8 mega pixel camera. Kodak’s C713, 7 mega pixel with 3X optical zoom camera is available also. Canon’s A470, 7 mega pixel with 3.4 optical zoom camera is in the market also.

Among ultra zoom model cameras, Kodak’s ZD710 is a brand new model with 7 mega pixel sensor with 10X optical zoom. Canon’s SX100IS is even more capable with 10X Zoom and 8 mega pixel. The largest zoom-bearing camera was Nikon P80. It has a 10 MP rated sensor with 18X optical zoom.

Sony’s W300 is among the ordinary cameras with its titanium-coated body. It has a 13.6 mega pixel sensor with 3X zoom. This camera is suitable for those searching for something compact but powerful. The W200 (12.1 mega pixel with 3X zoom), W120 (7 mega pixel with 4X zoom) are on display.

Nikon’s P50 (8.1 Mega Pixel with 3.6 zoom) is another well built. It is better for shooting than flat, compact Sony’s. But this one is not so small as to keep in pocket. The P5100 has a large sensor i.e. 10mega pixel to P50. Olympus’s FE310 is another one with some good specifications at 8 mega pixel with 5X zoom. Canon’s A580 (8 mega pixels with 4X zoom) and A590IS (8 mega pixels with 4X zoom) are also in the market. Another nice looking camera is Kodak’s M893IS (8 mega pixels with 3X zoom). This one is not so well built as some other cameras.
